The logline for ‘Out of Town’ — Changes at Sterling Cooper affect Pete and Ken. Don and Sal go on a business trip.

It surely was an intriguing episode to set the tone for the season and the that preview certainly didn’t help unravel the impending episodes story at all.

Don and Salvatore visit to Baltimore was quite an intriguing ‘ordeal’, I love the fact that Salvatore was almost expecting Don to ask him about his sexual preferences. Unfortunately the future does not look bright for Betty, as Don continues his own sexual escapades. At the same time, women especially wives during that period were probably just resigned to the fact that their husbands ruled the roost.

Ken Cosgrove (played by Aaron Staton), and Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser) both get promoted, what a laugh that was. This has the possibility to brew over the entire season, with will one of them perhaps being fired by the end? I can only see Pete Campbell getting his way up the ladder, although Ken is just this downright nice guy would be sad to see him go. Definitely an interesting prospect to see develop over the next few episodes.

The British characters, Lane Pryce (Jared Harris) and John Hooker (Ryan Cartwright) are people to watch out for, their camaraderie (as countrymen I’m guessing) is a little unsettling. Overall this episode bodes well for Season 3, with a few storylines developing and a couple that are yet to be seen. I would have to rate this a four of five stars.
